Restoration 1 (white to blue paint)
The restoration work began on Monday 12th November 2001 and finished on 25th January 2002. How does it compare to the old car in these progress shots? The new paint is Honda Super Sonic Blue Pearl. It changes dramatically between a metallic blue and a dark purple depending on the light.
Restoration 2 (repairs and modifications after accident)
On 21st April 2002, I was in an accident with another member from Car Audio Australia. He hit my car from behind and his insurance company paid me for my claim. They saw the car as a write-off and unfortunately the amount I received was not enough to pay for repairs. But Hum-Bug was repaired and upgraded regardless including new parts and a brand new engine.
All parts were supplied by Volksbahn Autos, 20 Joyce St., Pendle Hill. They also built, fitted and service the new engine.
The restoration and repairs were done by Joe Hassarati and I highly recommend his services.
